Wines from East Europe this Thursday with KNiT Wines (Sauv. Blanc, Sivi Pinot aka Pinot Grigio & Pinot Noir)

KNiT Wines was born out of the need for natural wine micro-portfolios to create market efficiencies, while maintaining their regional focus. KNiT is a distribution platform for selected focused micro-portfolios, and we love working with them! Supporting small-producution, natural wine is what we're all about.  We have selected three wines we currently have in stock from KNiT Wines to taste this Thursday, August 19th 5:30 PM - 8 PM.  Mataroa,  Sauvignon Blanc Amber, 2020, Greece   From one of the great Oenologists of Greece, Bakis Tsalkos who single handedly created the winemaking industry of Drama, Greece in the 80’s ( North Greece ). What is VDF? Read on and come taste this Thursday 8/12 5:30 - 8 PM

Join us this Thursday 5:30 - 8 for some VDF wines (Vin de France).  So what is the VDF designation all about? We are working with Flow Wine Group to bring you these wines, and they do a great job of explaining it...... Claus Preisinger Wines and More from Austria this Thursday, Aug 5th 5:30 PM - 8 PM

Join us this Thursday, August 5th 5:30PM - 8 PM to taste some stunning Austrian Wines from Importer Volker Wines.  A Blaufränkish sparkling Rosé from Weingut Strehn (think light and mineral-driven, like Gamay) from 35 yr old vines from limestone.  Bouquet of red apples, strawberries and raspberries, with hints of vanilla and cherry. On the palate is crispy, juicy and refreshing, with a lively and elegant acidity.  AND THEN.... a still Rosé A surfer at heart, Claus Preisinger has been making wine on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Burgenland town of Gols since 2002. He converted the vineyards and winery to biodynamic production in 2006, and is Respekt Biodyn certified. Claus vinifies mostly domestic grape varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Grüner...

"What Wine Club is All About" aka a Manifesto by Nichelina

Trying to come up with “themes” each month for wine club isn’t always easy.  This month, I decided to not try to come up with some new organizing tactic for why we chose the wines we chose.  They're not all Italian, or from volcanic soils or New World or Old World.  The 'true spirit’ of wine club is this - each month, we taste through a lot of wine and bring in a variety of bottles to the shop.  Stuff people always want, what they ask for -  the Malbecs, the Pinot Noirs, the Cab. Sauvs.  We look for the tastiest affordable seasonal picks,  which at the moment are the rosés, refreshing whites,  and skin-contact “orange” wines that go down...
