Quinta do Covão has belonged to the Gomes Ferreira family since the seventies. Located in Sandomil, Seia, near the Serra da Estrela mountain, Quinta do Covão has an ideal climate for growing grapes with high acidity and making wines that can be cellared. Lúcia Ferreira, sister to our Douro winemaker, Filipe Ferreira, started producing wine about 10 years ago. This elegant cuvee is made using only mabient yeast and is hand-harvested. NIne days of macertaion and 15 days of lees contact is follwed by racking and ageing in stainless teel. 25% Encruzado, 32% Malvasia Fina, 19% Bicoal, 14% Gouveio.
