We love it when winemakers write their own descriptions (that are accurate). 2017 was a particualry devastating vintage for Domaine du Closel due to frost damaging 90% of the crop in Savennières. The Chenin Blanc in this cuvée came from the south bank of the Loire which makes for a fine and delicate wine, like a butterfly's wing, full of citrus aromas. It's rich lush and perfectly balanced and extra special to drink a 2017 wine knowing so little survived the terrible conditions. It's as if all of that year's flavor just went into fewer grapes, creating this famous domain's beautiful Belle-Dame.
