Born into a winemaking family, and with extensive winery experience in New Zealand, Germany and South Africa, 29 year old Christoph Heiss has decided to focus on his own project in eastern Kamptal. Using chosen parcels of the Weingut Heiss’ 12 hectares of vines, Christoph has developed a very small production of stunning ‘Malinga’ natural wines. Organically farmed grapes are hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented. All the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulfur addition.
This St. Laurent sees partial carbonic fermentation and is from limestone soils. Light bodied, soft tannins, notes of raspberry, blackberry, chocolate. Just gorgeous. Pair with roast duck or Wiener schnitzel !
