Once thought to be extinct, this is 85% Fogarina and  15% Ancellota  from 60-year-old vines grown in sand with clay and silt.

Frizzante (sparkling) and dry.

4000 btls produced annually.

The red and black flag on the Fogarina label are the colors of Italian anarchists, a dedication to the memory of family friend Luigi Veronelli, who encouraged Amilcare Alberici to produce La Fogarina. This abandoned vineyard was brought back to life by Alberici and his cousin.

A completely fresh take on Lambrusco, showing tart currant and slightly vegetal qualities in juxtaposition to purple berry ripeness and floral components. Bright with a balanced acidity, this bottle is a breath of fresh air. Crowd pleasing, share this bottle with a few friends

".... I’m going to get a pizza. It will have basil and arugula, meatballs and roma tomatoes. Maybe chili flakes or chili oil. I will eat it with La Fogarina, while listening to Italian folk songs, and wishing that hand-rolled cigarettes were’t bad for you. A post-pizza Amaro will suffice. Fogarina was once nearly extinct. I’m glad it fought back from the brink"
