Domaine Trapet is led by power-winemaking-couple Jean-Louis Trapet (of Gevrey-Chambertin fame) and his wife, Alsatian native Andree.
Complex dry Riesling from a single tiny plot (less than 1 hectare) with a south/southeast exposure on a hillside overlooking the town of Riquewihr. The plot has brown, chalky, argillaceous soils on oligocene calcareous clay and compact lias soils. Only 5,000 bottles produced annually. Delicious now but has the structure to age gracefully for several more years.
classic Riesling nose with petrol, lemon balm, white peach, white flowers, and flinty minerality. medium bodied, core of juicy stone fruit, apricot pit, peach fuzz, brilliant texture in mid-palate, dry finish. An aromatic and terroir driven effort for all our Riesling aficionados.
