Tardana (also known as Planta Nova) is a grape native to Valencia, located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It is quite rare because it ripens very late, later than most red varietals, and often the last grape to make it to the cellar during harvest. Its thick skins protect the grape from traditional late ripening disease pressures and that long maturing season brings balance and elegance to the wine. Grown on limestone, we get this stunner with salinity, white flowers, elegance, structure. Drink on its own or with any difficult food pairing such as spicy Korean!
