Another gem for the value table! Marc Plouzeau has converted to certified organic since he took over his father's estate in 1999. The estate sits on gravel, clay limestone and flint clay that shines through in this very deliciously vegetal, smokey tomato, sour cherry-kissed high-toned knockout. Silky tannins, great elegance, notes of tobacco, crushed red peppers, graphite, thyme.
Les Lisons is a single 3-hectare parcel of vines located on the southern slopes of Ligre and has clay/limestone soil. vines 35-50 years old.
This wine displays the clean, precise character of the great terroir of the left bank of Chinon.
this cuvee is named "Lisons" in the US market, known as "La Roche" in Europe.
great with a slight chill. perfect now but quality Cab Franc like this can certainly improve for a few more years too if you cellar a couple bottles.
