Wiemer is a benchmark producer in the Finger Lakes, with some plantings going as far back as the last 1960s-early 70s. No herbicides have been used in 20 years, and they are converting a few of their top sites to Demeter certified Biodynamic (a rare feat in this part of the US). Next to their vineyards are biodiverse fields with flora and fauna. Cover crops are planted in between the rows as well.
This rosé is unmistakably dry and refreshing with notes of strawberry, watermelon rind, and white raspberry. And since this is mostly Pinot Noir, it's a fantastic alternative to pricier Sancerre roses. Medium to fuller bodied with just enough structure to stand up to dinner (and a perfect BBQ rose).
