Soellner - Gruner Veltliner T.O.N.I Wagram D.A.C. 2023 750ML (12% ABV)
Toni Söllner is a small-scale producer of handcrafted Bio-Veritas wines in the hills of the Donauland, looking over the Danube valley and the Alps, just to the east of the Kamptal. The vines grow on terraces of loess, mussel-chalk, and red gravel, amidst herbs, legumes and wild flowers. Working in harmony with nature with Daniela, his wife, and now their son.
The unique winery is located in Gösing am Wagram - a small, equally unique village in the north-western part of the Wagram, surrounded by vineyards. The elevated position on the foothills of the "granite" Manhartsberg mountain opens up a wonderful view across the Tullner Feld to th
e first mountains of the Alps.
For the soellner's, the circle as a minimalised symbol for the sun also stands for the cycle of life. The guiding principle applies: "everything turns and moves". The sympathetic winegrowers are among the "organic pioneers" on the Wagram. Organic farming has been practiced since 1994 and since 2004 also according to biodynamic principles. Around 16 hectares of vineyards are cultivated around Gösing. In addition, about 35 hectares of arable land, 10 hectares of woodland & biotopes and a few fruit trees are managed in a controlled, organic manner using biodynamic preparations and valuable manure compost. A few Krainer stone sheep & chickens are also part of the inventory. Daniela Vigne, Toni Söllner, brother Reinhard Söllner, son Julian Vigne, parents Margareta & Anton Söllner sen., Aurelia and Bogdan Kordyl and harvest helpers farm the land together.

A classic Gruner for all lovers of dry refreshing white wine - Underripe peach, snow pea, white flowers, and a perfect amount of salinity. As crispy and versatile as you will find. Crisp and light with plenty of lemon, lime, apple and pear blossom against a subtle vegetal background. Refreshing, lively finish of wet stone, underripe mango and a pleasant salinity. An excellent, captivating wine at this price point.
