eye-catching amber hue which is the result of two weeks of skin contact during fermentation in qvevri. It has aromas of dried fruits, citrus and herbal undertones, alongside hints of floral and spice. A rich, textured mouthfeel reveals layers of apricots, nuts, tea leaves, leather and a touch of minerality, lingering finish.
dry amber colored wine that gets it's color from 2 weeks of skins contact during fermentation in qvevri. Made from the Khikhvi grape, from 45 year old vines. Notes of yellow plum, apricot and lemon and tea-like tannins.

Just imagine, 8000 years ago people at the territory of the the modern country Georgia made the wines. And they still do it. Very often using the same old techniques. Andria Gvino winery is in that number. They are looking to have high quality wines, and compromise quantity for that. They do not irrigate their vineyards, do not use any fertilizers, and perform green harvest as well. For that reason, they have 3-4 times less crop in our vineyards than usual growers. This wine is made from bio/organically treated, very rare grape variety - Khikhvi. It's made in Qvevri with eastern Georgian traditional vinification method, with 100% skins contact and several months of maceration. Wine is very intensive, high in tannins. It has distinguished aromas and long finish. It matches well with spicy food, roasted meat, or aged cheeses

George Wolski trained as an engineer before he switched careers to make wine. His family had been making wine in Kakheti for many years but George is the first to bottle it. All the work is done organically and all the vines are dry-farmed. He is meticulous about cleaning his qvevri since he uses zero sulfur in his wines.

The Khikhvi spends one week, 100% of the grapes on its skins. It's got lots of green tea, caramel, and Arnold Palmer vibes, with a zappy tension. The mix of earthy umami and detailed, energetic lift is really nice. This is the deeper end of the pool for orange wines but it's well worth diving in.
