WINE CLUB SELECTION - JAN 2025

We make low intervention wine (often called "Natural Wine") from hand harvested grapes in Oregon's Willamette Valley. All of our vineyards are farmed sustainably and we are committed to increasing the number of organically farmed vineyards in Oregon by strictly contracting with farmers who share our love for the planet (as we grow).

Our Founder and Winemaker, Andy Young, believes that quantum physics and theology create a nice vin diagram, in the same way that really good wine is a combination of science and faith. Other things he believes in: mix tapes, fried chicken and that laughing with your buddies is about as good as it gets. He's been making the Marigny wines since 2015, with the hope that fun, quality, natural wines could be on everyone's table, in everyone's neighborhood, every day of the week.

Andrew Reginald Young left behind a career as a New Orleans rock drummer in 2012 to make low-intervention wines from cooler climate vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. He works with a lot of carbonic maceration to keep the wines light, all fermented with native yeasts and minimal intervention in the winery. The name of the winery is an amalgamation on his middle name, Reginald, and his neighborhood growing up in New Orleans, St Tammany Parish.

----------------------------------

this white is designed to drink like a classic Loire white with some age (for example a classic Melon de Bourgogne aka Muscadet aka the iconic dry oyster pairing wine)

Shimmy shimmy cocoa what? Listen to it - pound! For the IYKYK crowd, this direct press white would have been 2022 St. Reginald Fais Do Do in a different vintage, but with an addition of Pinot Gris, Aligoté and Riesling to make it a touch brighter and more quaffable. Reminiscent of Muscadet with a couple years of age on it, this PYT is ready for raw oysters, crab boils, squash enchiladas and all the fried things. Pass it to me now!

Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Aligoté, Riesling

Vinification: sustainable/organic farming, hand picked, Direct press into French Oak (90% neutral / 10% new). Full lees aging, racked to stainless steel two weeks before bottling with a small SO2 addition at racking.
