This Chenin is taken from two different plots, with one planted on sandy soils, and the other on quartz. It is left to age in concrete.
situated on the Coteaux du Layon, where Chenin Blanc has a deep seated tradition. Of the two sites, one is a relatively young vine parcel planted on sandy soils, and the other is a much sunnier site with southern exposure, dominated by quartz. The two sites ripen at their own pace but are harvested simultaneously to find harmony between the acidity and soft creaminess of the variety.
bright, salty, hazy, tart, with a textural backbone and length.
