Two From Domaine de L'R this Thursday! (and rosé!) 5:30-8PM! Come Taste w/ Wilson Daniels Importer!

We're thrilled to show you TWO from the esteemed Chinon estate Domaine D L'R.

Frédéric Sigonneau a relative newcomer (est. 2007) is second to maybe Bernard Baudry, his childhood neighbor, producing stunning shimmery Cab Franc and Chenin Blancs.  And one more, why not? a classic Provençal rose from Wilson Daniels Importer, always bringing us the good juice.

Domaine de L'R Fred Sigonneau Chenin Blanc 2017

Having spent some time working in Spain in Ribera del Duero, Frédéric Signonneau decided to come back to Touraine and create his own domain in 2007 – rising out of the remains of the family estate in Cravant les Coteaux. Anxious to produce wine is as natural a way as possible, he isn’t totally closed to the idea of intervening. The harvests are carried out by hand, and the domain practises gravity-flow winemaking in concrete vats. Sulphites are only added when this is deemed necessary. His only objective is to craft a wine he likes.

To make this cuvée, Frédéric Sigonneau has cultivated his way on a gravel terroir with limestone and sandstone. The grapes are then fermented in stainless steel tanks and the wine was aged for seven months on its lees. On tasting, it presents a golden color and a fine and fresh aromatic bouquet. On the palate, volume and tension are sublimated by a tangy finish. Serve it with fish in white butter or Asian dishes.

Domaine de l'R Les Cinq Elements Chinon 2018 750 ML

Chinon to the core!  Certified Organic delicious Cab Franc! Gravel and clay based soils, hand harvested and fermented in cement tanks, native yeasts - aged for 8 months.  Intense ruby red color, lush velvety mouthfeel with just enough grip. We can't say enough about this wine.
