Special TUESDAY tasting with Martine's Imports 5:30- 8 PM

Join us tomorrow TUESDAY Nov. 23rd.  We'll be tasting three wines perfect for your Thanksgiving table.

POE Wines "Une Femme" The Callie Sparkling Rosé

Each of the Une Femme wines is made in partnership with women in the wine world who we love. “The Callie” is the California sparkler, made by Samantha Sheehan of POE Wines in Napa. This crushable sparkling rosé is made with Napa and Sonoma-grown chardonnay, pinot noir, and mourvedre grapes.

A portion of proceeds from all sales of Une Femme Champagne is donated to Dress for Success, the non-profit benefiting women on their journey to financial independence.

42% Pinot Noir, 39% Mourvedre, 19% Chardonnay

“This precise California sparkling rosé is made by up-and-coming star Samantha Sheehan of Poe Wines.
Pleasantly dry, with toasty, caramel notes similar to those in Champagne, along with a berry taste as well—even our editors who normally don’t like rosé really enjoyed it.”

Dominique Cornin, Pouilly-Fuissé (2018)

Dare to be seduced by its golden hue, fresh lemon nose, anise accents and dramatic display of exotic fruit. Created from four plots, each with different qualities, this estate vintage is the epitome of the unique terroir mosaic of which the appellation is made up of. This wine is bursting with impatience to be enjoyed with a perfect dozen escargots.

The individual vineyards of this domaine are an apt reflection of the Cornin family. Each parcel carries a part of the family’s history in the Mâconnais. Les Chevrières holds the same plot Dominique’s grandfather planted more than 50 years ago. Clos Reyssié bears fruit from the same vines his father put to seed in 1938. The 100-year-old parcel in Les Serreudières reaches even deeper into the Cornins’ roots in Mâcon. In the same manner that these old vines labor to yield the fruit, Dominique subtly guides the wine from vine to bottle with little intervention. He recently has been joined in this effort by his son, Romain. One of the youngest of a new generation of wine-producers, Romain is amazingly knowledgeable, having studied under his father as well as some of the most talented growers in the region.

The Cornins use only biodynamic farming methods, and their only motive is to give each of their vineyards the best chance to express its own terroir. All the wines are fermented in stainless-steel tanks, and the single-vineyard wines are aged in used oak barrels. They bottle both Mâcon-Villages from their respective villages, reflecting the individual parcels with each bottling. Cornin wines are voluptuous, rich and succulent, with a distinctively fresh and ethereal quality.

Domaine Charles Audoin Marsanny Cuvee Marie Ragonneau 2017

Named after Cyril's great-grandmother, from several top parcels of old vines in Marsannay, the bottling is a representation of the village rather than one single vineyard. Grapes are 100% destemmed and cold macerated. After 15 days of fermentation, the wine is aged for one year in barrels, 10% new. Unfined and unfiltered. Cyril's father, Charles, was a visionary in the Burgundy region, as he'd already selected and vinified the best parcels in the 1970s, before Marsannay was even an appellation. Juicy and vibrant, raspberry and underbrush.

Tasting notes: Old vines, lush plums, subtle cocoa, whiff from the Smokey terroir, vanilla bean, old oak, some new oak finished with silky softness, Enticing!
